The Sky of Two Souls:

Half a planet away

night has almost met day

for my hour will be tomorrow

sending verses to the airways

burgeoning connection

with a talented pen

hours away from my inkwell

midnight hour has gone

the morning sky awakens

a date in the rain

April not ready to end

gifting lip-prints to the land

May begins in softness

dauntless and unshaped

winds whistling forgotten songs

the damp air clings

to some aspect of dawn

awaiting the caress of June

the sky has two eyes

this, both you and I can see

I utter an ode

and then the season deepens

into a silent slumber

the sky has two souls

two momentary visions

that exist in human memory

the vastness of life

that marries light

and sweet sorority

it is here we stand

together, one on each half

of our mother Earth

if you were to touch a tree

I trust its roots would reach me.
